The ‘forgotten landscape’ of the Severn Vale, an ancient orchard and Gothic church form the backdrop to this Victorian workers cottage. A stones throw from a busy motorway but unexpectedly quiet and rural in its character. From a blank canvas (derelict rubble wall and old chicken coops) Rob Skidmore of B2F Landscapes set to with his digger and stringline to put into place a fantastic stone path, wildlife pond and stone terrace. Gareth worked on the overall layout, architecture, shapes and planting. Keith Eastman did some great work repairing the teetering stone wall.
A naturalistic planting scheme is being slowly developed, with native colonisers being given free reign in the meantime. Poppies, foxgloves, love-in-the-mist and wild carrot doing the business.
Part of the brief was for a pond. A ‘jetty’ overhanging the pond, designed by Gareth, constructed by Rob of B2F Landscapes.
